Overhead wires

Service entrance or high voltage wires above a deck or balcony are to have 10 feet of clearance. Wires over a flat roof need 8 feet of clearance. Wires over a pitched roof with a slope greater or equal to 4-in-12 slope needs 3 feet of clearance. IRC 3604.2.1

From the side or below a window or balcony there needs to be at least 3 feet clearance to the wires to prevent touching. IRC 3604.1

Cables and conductors must be listed for sunlight resistance to prevent deterioration of insulation or wrapped with listed material. IRC 3605.6
